Application Logistics

Apply to CSUSB via Cal State Apply (due Jan. 31 for fall, Sept. 15 for spring)

Complete the Music Department Application Form indicating degree interest and major instrument

Music application due Jan. 31 (fall) or Oct. 1 (spring)

Any CSUSB-admitted student may declare music and pursue the BA in Music

Placement

A video placement audition determines applied-lesson level and ensemble placement — it does not affect admission

Incoming students are encouraged to take keyboard-skills and music-theory diagnostic placement exams for course placement only

Transfer Pathway

CSUSB lists Music, BA - General Music Studies Concentration as ADT-similar for the Music ADT. Accepted Music ADT students in this similar major receive the 60-semester-unit graduation guarantee when final ADT transcripts are submitted by the deadline.
