Audition Process
•Two-step admission: 1) Apply to the university, 2) Schedule a music department audition
•Must have university admission status of "accepted" or "pending" before auditioning
•Instrumental applicants audition on their primary instrument
•Earlier auditions prioritized for acceptance notification and scholarship consideration
Audition Expectations
•Auditions held on campus, 9am to 3pm on scheduled dates
•Submit the Audition Request Form and Release of Liability Form before auditioning
•Video submission accepted for students unable to attend in person (especially 150+ miles from campus)
•Upload to YouTube, Vimeo, or Dropbox — no physical copies accepted
•Email the video link, personal info, and complete titles/composers to MusicRecruitment@csustan.edu

What to Prepare
•4-5 minutes of prepared repertoire
•One solo work or concerto movement with contrasting styles (lyric and technical), OR two contrasting pieces or études appropriate for your instrument
•Repertoire may be performed with or without an accompanist — the music department does NOT provide an accompanist
