Scholarship Audition Requirements

Optional audition for scholarship consideration only; it is not required for program admission.

Repertoire

Voice: three contrasting songs: art songs, sacred, Broadway, opera or contemporary

Voice: selections should be memorized

Voice: one selection in a foreign language is preferred

Keyboard (piano or organ): two solo selections from contrasting periods (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, 20th Century, etc.)

Keyboard (piano or organ): pianists should have their music memorized for presentation

Keyboard (piano or organ): each piece should showcase a specific aspect of your musicianship and technical skill

Orchestral instruments: two contrasting pieces that demonstrate your musicianship and skill

Orchestral instruments: memorization of a solo work is encouraged

Contemporary or non-orchestral instruments: requirements vary and Department of Music faculty should be consulted for specific audition repertoire

Music auditions are for scholarship consideration, not a published admission requirement for the academic program

Covenant publishes two Scholarship Weekends for Fall 2027 entry: January 22–23 and February 5–6, 2027

In-person and virtual auditions are welcomed; the current virtual-submission deadline is only available in the Acceptd portal and could not be verified

Vocalists seeking consideration for top scholarship awards must audition with piano accompaniment
