Acting scholarship applicants who cannot visit campus may submit a high-quality recording.

Begin with a slate stating your name, the piece, and the character.

Application Logistics

First be accepted to Cottey, then apply for a Fine Arts Scholarship through myCottey.

February 1 is the priority deadline; later applications are considered as funds remain.

Eligibility

Theatre scholarships are open to any major, with priority for theatre majors and minors.

Transfer Pathway

BA Theatre transfer applicants receive course-by-course evaluation, and holders of an AA, AS, BA, BS, or other accredited degree are exempt from most general-education core requirements. Students complete 30 of their final 40 credits at Cottey and must still satisfy all Theatre requirements.

What's The Process

Audition Process

Acting scholarship applicants audition for theatre faculty during a campus visit or submit a recorded monologue.

Design and technical scholarship applicants submit supporting materials and may interview with theatre faculty.

Audition Expectations

The scholarship review is optional and is not an admission audition for the General Theatre Focus.

Scholarship Info

Theatre Scholarship

Awards up to $1,500 for incoming students and may be renewed annually.

Recipients enroll in at least one theatre course each semester and participate meaningfully in all main-stage productions.

The theatre scholarship cannot be combined with an athletic scholarship.
