Audition Process
•Complete the Commonwealth University application first, then register for an audition date
•Audition includes the principal instrument performance plus a piano placement exam, a music theory diagnostic, and an aural skills evaluation
•A personal interview with the department chair or designee can be requested before the audition
Audition Expectations
•Bloomsburg does not currently publish dated on-campus audition days — audition times are arranged by appointment after you apply
•Recorded or Zoom auditions are available — Bloomsburg applicants who live 200 or more miles away may request a virtual audition
•Recorded auditions must be unedited and include at least two contrasting works plus major and minor scales; sight-reading, theory, and aural skills are completed via Zoom
Decisions
•November/December auditions: notified by January 31
•January through March auditions: notified by March 31
•Auditions after March 31: notified no later than 2 weeks after the audition
