Audition Process
•Complete the Commonwealth University application first; after submission, register for a Bloomsburg music audition.
•The audition evaluates the principal instrument or voice and includes piano placement, music theory, and aural skills components; these diagnostics are used for course placement, not admission.
•Request a personal interview with the department chair or designee before the audition if desired.
Audition Expectations
•Recorded or Zoom auditions are available when distance prevents a live audition.
•Recorded auditions must be unedited and include at least two contrasting works plus major and minor scales; sight-reading, theory, and aural skills are completed via Zoom.
Decisions
•November/December auditions: notification by January 31.
•January through March auditions: notification by March 31.
•Auditions after March 31: notification within two weeks.
