Training
•The Associate in Arts in Music for Transfer is designed as an expedited route into a similar CSU major and includes a 24-unit major.
•The major includes four semesters of musicianship and harmony, four semesters of applied studio lessons, and ensemble coursework.
Performance & Productions
•Required ensemble choices include Small Ensembles, Small Jazz Ensembles, Contemporary Jazz Combo, Symphonic Band, Repertory Jazz Band, and Concert Choir.
•Students complete at least 60 CSU-transferable units, the required major coursework, and the general-education pattern for the AA-T.
Degree Flexibility
•Students who complete the AA-T are guaranteed admission to the CSU system, though not to a particular campus or major.
•An accepting CSU campus may require no more than 60 additional units for the bachelor's degree; CSM recommends counseling and ASSIST research before transfer.
