Audition Process
•Entrance audition required for all prospective music education majors
•Auditions include prepared performance, interview, musicianship assessment, and sight-reading
•Auditions held on designated dates throughout the year
•Registration deadline: 8 days prior to each audition date at 5:00 PM
•Students living more than 200 miles from campus may audition by video recording with Dr. Jacob Lee approval
Instrumental Requirements
•Prepare two works for the audition
•Suggested package: one etude or solo piece of your choice and one movement from standard sonata or concerto repertoire
•Prepare one major and one minor scale in two or three octaves with corresponding arpeggios
•Percussionists should prepare one piece each on timpani, snare drum, and a mallet instrument
•Accompanist is not required, but one can be provided upon request
•Memorization is not required
