Audition Process
•Bullet: Entrance audition required for all prospective music education majors
•Bullet: Auditions include prepared performance, interview, musicianship assessment, and sight-reading
•Bullet: Auditions held on designated dates throughout the year
•Bullet: Registration deadline: 8 days prior to each audition date at 5:00 PM
•Bullet: Students living more than 200 miles from campus may audition by video recording with Dr. Jacob Lee approval
Instrumental Requirements
•Bullet: Prepare two works for the audition
•Bullet: Suggested package: one etude or solo piece of your choice and one movement from standard sonata or concerto repertoire
•Bullet: Prepare one major and one minor scale in two or three octaves with corresponding arpeggios
•Bullet: Percussionists should prepare one piece each on timpani, snare drum, and a mallet instrument
•Bullet: Accompanist is not required, but one can be provided upon request
•Bullet: Memorization is not required
