Program Recognition
•Chapman's BA in Dance is the entry point for all dance majors and combines rigorous performance training with choreography, concert production, and dance theory
•The degree's lighter credit load can leave room for a double major while still offering substantial studio and performance experience
Technique & Creation
•Students train in modern, jazz, and ballet, with additional exposure to acting, ballroom, conditioning/Pilates, hip-hop, tap, somatics, dance science, and music for dancers
•BA students can perform in concerts from their first year, choreograph pieces, and learn the production skills needed to crew a show
Performance & Career Preparation
•The department produces 80–90 pieces of student choreography per semester and supports opportunities through classes, student clubs, and off-campus work
•Students use the Sandi Simon Center for Dance and Musco Center for the Arts while developing pathways toward dance companies, studios, public schools, talent agencies, and other arts organizations
