Scholarship Audition Requirements

These requirements are from the Fall 2026 entry cycle. Fall 2027 requirements are typically posted between August and October and usually change only slightly — confirm on the official source before submitting.

Optional audition for scholarship consideration only; it is not required for program admission.

Songs

16 Bars of Vocal Music

Should reflect vocal range and ability

Recommended for Musical Theatre Option applicants

Scene partner option: 6 bars of vocal music

Monologues

One Monologue

One monologue of your choice (classic or contemporary)

Combined with 16 bars of vocal music

OR two contrasting monologues (one classic, one contemporary), 5 minutes total

Recordings from one-act or school performances are not accepted

Additional Materials

Letters of Recommendation

Recommendation letter from high school principal, counselor, or theatre instructor

Recommendation should attest to character, interests, and abilities in theatre

Video

Link to audition video (YouTube, Dropbox, Google, etc.)

Must be a dedicated audition recording, not a clip from a school performance

Theatre Apprenticeships available for incoming freshmen and transfer students

Auditions submitted via video link (YouTube, Dropbox, Google, etc.)

Submit video through the online Apprenticeship Application

Audition Format

One monologue plus 16 bars of vocal music (recommended for Musical Theatre)

OR two contrasting monologues (one classic, one contemporary), 5 minutes total

Scene partner option: two-person scene (5 min max) plus 6 bars vocal
