Application Logistics

Apply to Centenary College via Common App or the Centenary application.

Complete the Hurley School of Music audition; both the college application and music audition are required for music major consideration.

No separate audition portal was found; auditions are scheduled directly with the School of Music.

Admission Pathway

Rolling admission decisions are released once the application file and audition are complete.

Applicants who complete the audition before January 15 receive priority scholarship consideration.

Transfer Pathway

BA Music – General Studies transfer students can use Centenary's published BPCC articulation: an AA in Fine Arts transfers toward graduation hours, with relevant music coursework evaluated against this concentration.

Audition Process

All music degree candidates must pass an audition in their primary performing medium and complete a faculty interview.

Applicants also take piano and theory placement exams.

Audition Expectations

Auditions may be completed in person or by video recording; audio-only recordings are not accepted.

Use the repertoire listed for the applicant's primary instrument area.

Music Scholarships

Awarded based on the entrance audition.

Applicants who audition before January 15 are considered for the expanded slate of music scholarships, including full-tuition scholarships.

On average, qualifying music majors receive an artistic scholarship covering nearly 60% of tuition, room, and board.
