Voice Audition Repertoire

•Two contrasting selections, memorized

•Art songs or arias are preferred

•If possible, one selection should be in a language other than English

Accompaniment

•A live accompanist is preferred; accompaniment tracks are acceptable

•For recorded auditions, include all required vocal elements on video

Application Logistics

•Apply to Centenary College via Common App or the Centenary application

•Complete the Hurley School of Music voice audition — both must be done to be considered

•No separate audition portal — auditions are scheduled directly with the School of Music

Admission Pathway

•Rolling admission decisions once the application file and audition are complete

•No application fee for first-year applicants

What's The Process

Audition Process

•All music degree candidates must pass a voice audition to be admitted to the Hurley School of Music

•Complete an interview with the music faculty about your career aspirations and musical background

•Take the piano and theory placement exams

Audition Expectations

•Complete the audition in person or via recording (video required; no audio-only recordings)

•Planned in-person audition weekends are offered each fall and winter; other dates can be arranged

•Recorded auditions: upload video to YouTube or a shareable drive and email the link

•Awarded based on the entrance audition

•Applicants who audition before January 15 are considered for the expanded slate of music scholarships, including prestigious full-tuition scholarships
