Theory Placement

•Admitted students take a music theory and aural-skills placement exam on audition day or during Getting Started Week — for course placement only, not admission

Licensure

•Teacher candidates complete Ohio licensure exams to be licensed to teach

•Eligible for an Ohio teaching license and an ACSI certificate

What's The Process

Audition Format

•Principal-instrument audition on voice following the vocal audition guidelines

•Musicianship test (sight-reading and tonal memory) and an interview

•Interview also evaluates teaching disposition, career goals, and program fit

Scheduling

•Submit online audition application at least two weeks before desired date

•Audition days include complimentary breakfast, lunch, chapel, and campus tour

•Custom dates available weekdays by permission of the music office

Recorded Audition

•Available for applicants living 300+ miles from campus

•Upload video to YouTube or Vimeo following on-campus audition guidelines

•Announce each piece before performing with breaks between selections

•Recording should not be edited or spliced
