Songs

Requirements

Two Solo songs, 4 min max total — Choose Option a or B

Option A

One song written before 1970 (musical theater, pop, hip-hop, folk, rock, rap, soul, country, punk, etc.)

One song written after 1970 in a contrasting style

Option B

One musical theater song from any time period

One song of your choice in any style (musical theater, pop, hip-hop, folk, rock, rap, soul, country, punk, etc.)

Should contrast the style of the first selection

Accompaniment

Must sing to musical accompaniment — no a cappella

In-person auditions: accompanist provided by CCPA

Monologues

Requirements

Two Short Contrasting monologues, 4 min max total

Contemporary

One contemporary monologue (typically written after 1950)

From a published play or by a professional writer

Classical

One classical monologue (typically written before 1950)

Must feature heightened language

Examples: Shakespeare, Molière, Christopher Marlowe, Thomas Middleton, Thomas Kyd, Aristophanes, August Wilson, Tony Kushner, Suzan-Lori Parks, Mike Bartlett, George the Poet, Andrea Gibson, or contemporary adaptations with heightened language

Dance

Video Audition

One dance or movement piece

Show your best version of dancing or moving

Include up to 3 styles of dance, 1 minute each

Applicants without dance training may use the recommended audition-steps video

In-Person Audition

Includes a group dance call

Eligibility

High school diploma or equivalent required, or applicant must be age 19+

Previous performing-arts study or demonstrable professional experience expected

Two industry-professional references or a relevant postsecondary degree required

Must demonstrate interest in acting, dance, voice, and career management

English language proficiency required

International Students

Not eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit

Begin the study-permit process immediately after an offer; admission does not guarantee permit approval

In-person auditions and interviews: March 6, 2027

In-person audition includes the two monologues, two songs with a provided accompanist, and a group dance call

Late video auditions may be considered based on availability

Results begin by email April 1, 2027; contact the Registrar if no email arrives by April 14, 2027
