Repertoire List

Two memorized selections in contrasting style from the standard classical solo repertoire

Additional standard classical repertoire, scales, and arpeggios may be included if desired

List of piano repertoire you have played

Sheet Music

Bring printed sheet music for the audition panel

Letters of Recommendation

Submit two letters of recommendation

Letters may be emailed directly to vpascholarships@carthage.edu

Application Logistics

Step 1: Apply to Carthage through the Common App or Carthage application

Step 2: Submit the Music Audition Form to schedule your audition

The scholarship audition application is separate from the Carthage College application

Students must be accepted into the College before the end of February for scholarship eligibility

Placement

All students are placed in Keyboard I, Music Theory I, and Aural Skills I unless a placement test is requested

Placement tests are for course placement, not admission

What's The Process

Audition Process

Keyboard applicants perform memorized selections and sight-read from standard repertoire

Music majors should prepare two memorized contrasting selections

Applicants may include additional repertoire, scales, and arpeggios

Audition Format

In-person audition before a panel of music faculty

Audition format is a 4-hour morning or afternoon block with audition, tour, faculty and student meetings, and masterclass observation
