Admission Process
•No incoming freshman entrance audition required
•All students accepted as provisional music majors for the first year
•End of first year: students audition for the faculty to attain full music major status
•Sophomore year: faculty meet with each student to discuss career goals and progress
Scholarship Audition
•Music scholarship audition on February 13, 2027 at Shattuck Music Center
•Application opens September 1, 2026; deadline January 11, 2027
•In-person only for vocalists (virtual available for instrumentalists only)
•15-minute audition with accompanist provided
•Prepare two solo pieces: one classical (aria or art song) and one in a contrasting style (musical theatre, pop, or jazz)
•Vocalists also asked to sing major and minor scales (preferably solfege)
•Send PDF scores to jcawley@carrollu.edu before audition day
•Arrive 30 minutes early to warm up and rehearse with accompanist
