Audition Process

•Post-enrollment special major gate: students apply to the Chair of Dance for the special major after enrolling at Carleton

•Acceptance is based on personal interviews with faculty, auditions, readiness for Modern Dance III, and a Special Major Petition

•Special Major Petition includes a short essay and a detailed schedule of required courses and activities

•Petition is recommended by the beginning of junior year

•Many course and faculty contacts usually happen before the major is declared
