•Two-step path to the California Single Subject Credential in Music: complete the pre-credential BM, then a post-baccalaureate credential program through Cal State LA's Charter College of Education (or another institution)

•Required senior recital
•Majors perform in the department's ensembles — Orchestra, Wind Ensemble/Symphonic Band, and Chamber Singers/Concert Choir — building the conducting and rehearsal experience teachers rely on

•Based in Los Angeles, with access to one of the nation's largest K-12 school systems for student-teaching placements and music-classroom observation
