Complete the Music Department Supplemental Application by January 11, 2027 (opens October 1, 2026)

Cal Poly Pomona is campus-impacted for first-time freshmen; Music is not listed among the program-impacted majors for Fall 2027

Admission Pathway

The music audition is used for placement and is not an admission audition for BA Music applicants

Admitted students take a music theory and aural-skills placement exam at orientation — for course placement only, not admission

What's The Process

Placement Audition

No audition is required for admission to the BA in Music

Applicants complete an audition so faculty can determine placement within the program based on skill level

Not auditioning limits the department's ability to place you appropriately
