Repertoire List
•Bullet: Voice: A minimum of 18 minutes of music in at least three different languages, chosen from the department list (German, French, Italian, English, other languages, and Musical Theater) or from repertoire of comparable or greater difficulty
•Bullet: Piano: 12-15 minutes of music including a piece from the Baroque or earlier periods, an allegro movement of a classical sonata, and a Romantic or contemporary work; all major and minor scales, hands together, two or more octaves up and down
•Bullet: Guitar: Scales (three-octave chromatic scale; two-octave major scales in C, G, D, A, and E; two-octave minor scales in Am, Em, Bm, F#, and C#); two etudes chosen from the department list (Sor, Brouwer, Villa-Lobos); a minimum of 15 minutes of solo repertoire from at least three different time periods and styles
•Bullet: Woodwinds (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone): Scales (flute: major, minor, and chromatic; clarinet: major, natural minor, and chromatic; oboe, bassoon, and saxophone: scales and arpeggios); one etude chosen from the department list or works of comparable or greater difficulty; a minimum of 15 minutes of music chosen from the department list or works of comparable or greater difficulty
•Bullet: Brass (trumpet, horn, trombone, tuba): Scales (trumpet and tuba: scales and arpeggios; trombone: all major and natural, harmonic, and melodic minor scales, two octaves, in quarter notes at quarter = 100); one etude chosen from the department list or works of comparable or greater difficulty; a minimum of 15 minutes of music (trumpet and tuba: a minimum of ten minutes of music, one or two contrasting pieces or movements, plus one orchestral excerpt)
•Bullet: Strings (violin, viola, cello, string bass): Major and minor scales (violin and viola: 3 octaves; cello: 3 and 4 octaves; string bass: 2 or 3 octaves); a fast movement chosen from the department list or works of comparable or greater difficulty; a movement of solo Bach (violin, viola, and cello; viola and cello not from the first Suite); additional contrasting repertoire, if needed, for a total of 15 minutes of solo repertoire
•Bullet: Percussion: Be able to meet the Music Teacher Preparation audition requirements for snare drum and two-mallet marimba, plus two works chosen from snare drum, 4-mallet marimba, timpani, or multiple percussion, or other works of comparable or greater difficulty
