Monologues

Requirements

Two Contrasting Monologues

Total of both monologues should not exceed three minutes

From published plays, memorized

Style

For example, one comedic and one dramatic

Heightened classical monologues such as Shakespeare are welcome but not required

Application Logistics

The application for Fall 2027 enrollment is available now

Submit the BW undergraduate application and the $125 audition fee, or request a fee waiver

After payment or waiver approval, use the BW applicant portal to select one available audition date

Submit the application and audition fee by October 1 for October auditions, November 1 for November or December auditions, or January 15 for January or February auditions

Applications may be accepted after a deadline when audition space remains

Audition spots may fill well before published deadlines

What's The Process

Audition Process

Live BFA Acting auditions are offered in person and by Zoom

On-campus audition experiences may include a workshop, audition, campus tour, lunch, and an on-campus performance

Zoom auditionees have approximately 10 minutes with the acting faculty panel, followed by interaction with current students and a Q&A

Faculty may invite applicants to participate in a movement or acting workshop with fellow auditionees

Off-campus auditions are offered through Pittsburgh, New York City, and Chicago Unified Auditions

Auditions are scheduled first-come, first-served after BW receives the application and audition fee or approves a fee waiver

Griffiths Scholarship

$2,000 - $8,000 annually for admitted Conservatory students who demonstrate outstanding talent in the audition process

Renewable up to four years with 3.0+ GPA and continued Conservatory enrollment
