Live Audition
•Classical repertoire on your primary instrument
•Brass & Woodwinds: one faster movement or etude (rhythmic/technical) and one slower movement or etude (lyrical); all major scales and a full-range chromatic scale, tongued and slurred; sight-reading
•Strings (Violin/Viola/Cello): two contrasting pieces or movements of your choosing; sight-reading may be required
•Bass: a concerto movement, a Baroque sonata movement or Bach solo suite movement, and an etude
•Guitar: 2–3 selections of contrasting styles
•Harp: a solo piece, the cadenza from Tchaikovsky's "Waltz of the Flowers," one concerto movement (Mozart, Debussy, or Handel), and two contrasting pieces
•Percussion: snare drum solo/etude, marimba (and/or vibraphone/xylophone) solo, timpani solo/etude, optional drum set
•Keyboard placement assessment and a musicianship placement exercise on audition day — for course placement only, not part of the admission decision
•Virtual auditions available on request via Zoom
