Letters of Recommendation
•Required: a letter of recommendation from a high school music instructor or private teacher is due at the audition; phone calls are accepted
Repertoire List
•Required: brass and woodwinds prepare a chromatic scale across the instrument range, plus one lyrical and one technical excerpt; approximately 3 min total
•Percussion/drumline: drumline excerpt when applicable, plus student-choice excerpts on any two of snare drum, mallets, or timpani
•Strings: violin prepares one 3-octave scale and 2 min solo; viola, cello, and bass prepare one 2-octave scale and 2 min solo
•Jazz ensembles: jazz etude or transcribed solo; optional improvisation on B-flat blues
