•The 19-credit Music Performance minor includes two semesters of private lessons, four semesters of ensemble participation and supporting work in music theory and history
•The structure gives non-majors sustained applied study instead of a single elective lesson, with audition placement connecting students to the appropriate studio and ensemble
Performance & Productions
•Options include Symphony Orchestra, Choir, Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble and chamber groups such as guitar, string, brass, woodwind and saxophone ensembles
•Chamber coaching develops rehearsal independence and close collaborative listening alongside large-ensemble experience
Facilities
•Baird Hall provides 64 piano practice rooms, rehearsal halls and a 150-seat recital hall with 5.1 sound, while Lippes Concert Hall hosts the department’s major concert series
