•Bullet: Weekly one-to-one study with Sungmin Shin spans classical, acoustic and electric guitar; Shin also directs the UB Guitar Ensemble
•Bullet: The area’s audition preparation centers on two or three contrasting works, with major and minor scales and arpeggios recommended as technical foundations
Performance & Productions
•Bullet: Guitarists can rehearse in the dedicated Guitar Ensemble and receive chamber coaching in small groups, complementing solo study and the MusB senior recital
•Bullet: Performance majors attend six concerts each semester and take part in a department that presents more than 150 free events annually
Facilities
•Bullet: Baird Hall provides practice rooms and recital space, while Lippes Concert Hall and the department’s recording rooms support acoustic performance, capture and review
