Training
•The BFA covers scenic, lighting, costume, sound and projection design together with stage management and technical direction
•Classroom work moves into plays, musicals and dance concerts, where student designers, technicians and stage managers take active production assignments with individualized faculty mentorship
Professional Development
•Students participate in KCACTF and USITT, can pursue paid Center for the Arts event work, and use internships or regional-theatre collaborations to build portfolios and industry contacts
Facilities
•The 388-seat Drama Theatre has 40 line sets, traps, adjustable proscenium walls and a pit lift; the flexible Black Box and Katharine Cornell Theatre add contrasting production conditions
•A scene shop supports carpentry, painting and welding, while the costume shop, craft room and design suite provide drafting, lighting, Vectorworks, WYSIWYG, Adobe Photoshop and Pro Tools resources
