Training
•The BA builds technique in modern, ballet, tap and jazz alongside choreography, improvisation, pedagogy, somatic practice, Laban Movement Analysis, history, criticism and dance kinesiology
•Its liberal-arts structure leaves room to connect dance with fields across a major research university, while musical-theatre dance, social dance and comparative jazz courses broaden the movement vocabulary
Performance & Productions
•BA dancers can perform with the pre-professional Zodiaque Dance Company, which mounts two fully produced Center for the Arts concerts each year and has appeared at Kleinhans Music Hall and the Buffalo Botanical Gardens
•ChoreoLab, the Emerging Choreographers Showcase and student-directed Dancers Workshop create separate settings for research, mentored choreography and student-produced performance
Facilities
•Dedicated Center for the Arts studios use Marley floors, independent sound systems and 18-foot mirrors, with productions also staged in the 388-seat Drama Theatre
