Professional Development
•Bullet: The Concurrent BA (Honours, Dramatic Arts)/BEd (Intermediate/Senior) program pairs an Honours Dramatic Arts degree with a Bachelor of Education so graduates can teach drama at the Intermediate/Senior level (grades 7-12) alongside a second teachable subject chosen from Dramatic Arts, English, French, Geography, History, Mathematics, Health and Physical Education, Science, or Visual Arts.
•Bullet: Graduates who complete the program are recommended to the Ontario College of Teachers for an Ontario Certificate of Qualification and Registration, combining professional theatre training with a certified teaching credential in one continuous course of study.
•Bullet: Experiential education placements and school-based practicums begin as early as year two and continue through the program, giving Dramatic Arts majors classroom teaching experience well before their capstone practicum terms.
Degree Flexibility
•Bullet: The Faculties of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Education co-operate to run the program, layering Child and Youth Studies and Education coursework and EDBE practicum blocks onto the same Dramatic Arts curriculum, admission process, and Marilyn I. Walker School training used by the standalone BA Honours Dramatic Arts degree.
