Audition Process
•The DART Invitational is an in-person workshop and admissions event at the Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts.
•Approved international applicants, applicants more than 500 km from campus, or applicants unable to attend may request a one-hour Zoom Personal Alternate Interview.
•The in-person day runs from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with workshops around Performance, Creation, Design and Production, and Concurrent Education.
•Applicants use Sophocles' Antigone in workshop exercises and collaboratively create an original theatre piece in the afternoon.
Audition Expectations
•No classical monologue is required for the DART Invitational.
•Evaluation focuses on ensemble collaboration, analytical and creative engagement with the assigned play, listening, response to feedback, and focused physical theatre work.
•Wear loose neutral clothing, black pants, and a plain white short-sleeved T-shirt labeled with your preferred first and last name.
Decisions
•Participants receive a results email from the Department within one to two weeks after the workshop.
•Brock Admissions extends the program offer after the applicant is deemed academically eligible.
