Audition Format
•Bullet: In-person auditions on scheduled dates or video audition accepted
•Bullet: Complete the Audition Form and submit before your audition
•Bullet: Auditioners may provide their own accompanist
•Bullet: If using the departmental accompanist, submit music at least two weeks in advance
Instrumentalists
•Bullet: Major scales (ascending and descending, up to four sharps and flats) and chromatic scale (two octaves)
•Bullet: A 3-5 minute prepared solo, preferably with accompaniment
•Bullet: A second selection in a contrasting style
Vocalists
•Bullet: An unaccompanied major scale on a neutral syllable
•Bullet: An art song or aria
•Bullet: A second selection in a contrasting style
Percussionists
•Bullet: Major scales on mallets (two octaves, up to four sharps and flats)
•Bullet: A prepared solo or etude on Snare Drum, Timpani, Keyboard Percussion, or Drum Set
•Bullet: A second selection on an alternate instrument
•Bullet: Must audition in at least 2 of 4 percussion disciplines
Video Audition
•Bullet: Upload performance to YouTube (set to "unlisted") and include URL in audition form
Notification
•Bullet: Within 10 days of audition, candidates notified of status
•Bullet: Outcomes: accepted, conditionally accepted, or not accepted
