Application Logistics

Submit the Boston Conservatory online application before accessing SlideRoom

SlideRoom instructions are emailed after the Conservatory application is submitted

Early Action: submit the application and required pre-screen by November 1

Regular Action: submit the application and required pre-screen by December 1; November 1 is recommended for the pre-screen

All music applicants list at least one recommender in the SlideRoom supplemental application

All undergraduate applicants complete a recorded online interview in addition to the artistic review

Eligibility

Fall enrollment only

A separate complete application and audition are required for each Conservatory program

Students may enroll in only one Conservatory program and may not pursue a double major

Transfer Pathway

Violin applicants in BM String Performance receive transfer placement through the admission audition, transcript review, proficiency results, and first-semester jury; Boston Conservatory says most transfers finish in two to three years.

Audition Process

Submit the Conservatory application before receiving SlideRoom access

Upload the violin pre-screen by November 1 for Early Action or December 1 for Regular Action

Applicants who pass the pre-screen register for an audition in the application portal under My Events

Audition Expectations

Online and in-person auditions use the same published final-round requirements

Pre-screens submitted after the deadline are considered case by case

All undergraduate applicants also complete a recorded online interview

Possible brief sight-reading

Memorization is not required
