Training
•The 122-credit BM Percussion Performance degree develops snare drum, mallet, timpani, orchestral, and ensemble musicianship through applied lessons, theory, rhythm, ear training, score reading, and performance seminar
•Students may study with one general percussion teacher or divide lessons among two, three, or all four studio teachers
•The curriculum includes eight instrumental-ensemble credits, six percussion-ensemble credits, and two degree recitals
Performance & Productions
•Percussionists work in symphonic orchestras, chamber groups, student-produced collaborations, and pit orchestras for dance, opera, and theater
•Access to Berklee College of Music adds faculty, classes, world-music ensembles, and performance settings beyond the Conservatory
Professional Development
•Upper-level electives can cover performance technology, film, nonverbal communication, career skills, advanced rhythm, and score reading
•Students coordinate recital projects with composers, singers, and instrumentalists while developing an individual artistic direction
