Prepare an etude

Prepare two contrasting movements in character and tempo from a sonata or concerto

Prepare all major scales and arpeggios

Perform without accompaniment

Application Logistics

Submit the Boston Conservatory online application before accessing SlideRoom

SlideRoom instructions are emailed after the Conservatory application is submitted

Early Action: submit the Conservatory application by November 1

Regular Action: submit the Conservatory application by December 1

Complete the required SlideRoom supplemental application after receiving emailed access

All music applicants list at least one recommender in the SlideRoom supplemental application

All undergraduate applicants complete a recorded online interview in addition to the artistic review

Eligibility

Fall enrollment only

A separate complete application and audition are required for each Conservatory program

Students may enroll in only one Conservatory program and may not pursue a double major

Transfer Pathway

Bass Trombone applicants in BM Brass Performance receive transfer placement through the admission audition, transcript review, proficiency results, and first-semester jury; Boston Conservatory says most transfers finish in two to three years.
