•Two Contrasting Songs — one ballad, one uptempo

•At least one from musical theatre repertoire

•Other may be musical theatre or pop/rock

•4-MINUTE TOTAL TIME LIMIT for singing portion

Preparation

•Keep each song to 2 minutes, preferably 32 bars (verse and chorus)

•Avoid long instrumental introductions

•PRE-RECORDED ACCOMPANIMENT required (no CDs, no piano available)

•Select songs that showcase unique vocal quality, phrasing, and lyric interpretation

Monologues

Requirements

•Monologue Selection

•Prepare two contrasting monologues

•Keep the total time at 3 minutes or less

•Include one contemporary monologue written after 1970

•Include one classical, spoken-word, or verse monologue from any time period

Performance Notes

•Choose active material rather than purely narrative pieces

•Select characters close to your age range

•You may choose a character of any gender identification

Dance

Requirements

•In-person Dance Call

•Complete a 90-minute master class

•Learn combinations in musical theatre styles including ballet and jazz

•All levels of dance experience are welcome

•Wear comfortable dance attire

•Dance shoes are recommended, but sneakers are also accepted

•Receive ballet and jazz combination videos 48 hours before the audition

•Record and upload yourself performing the combinations before the audition

•You may submit one additional dance video up to 1 minute in another style

•Two copies of HEADSHOT and resume (in-person only)

•Pre-recorded accompaniment for singing (MP3 player or iPhone — no CDs)
