Curriculum
•The Music major requires 10 courses (30 credits).
•Students complete music theory, foundational studies in Western art music, world music, and popular music, upper-level electives, and an independent senior project.
•The curriculum supports work across analysis, history, culture, composition, and performance without creating separate admission tracks.
Capstone & Placement
•The senior project can culminate in a thesis, project, composition, and/or performance presented to faculty and students.
•Students with prior theory study may take a placement exam and begin above Fundamentals of Music Theory.
Performance & Study
•Performance study can count toward elective requirements.
•The department offers study-abroad guidance for Music students.
