Repertoire List
•Prepare repertoire on your instrument — trumpet, horn, tenor or bass trombone, euphonium, or tuba
•Prepare 2 to 5 minutes of music in each of two contrasting styles (technical and lyrical) — solo repertoire, etudes, or a combination (see suggested literature per instrument)
•Orchestral excerpts are optional for undergraduate auditions
Scales & Technique
•All major scales, memorized, two octaves where possible
•Chromatic scale, memorized (range varies by instrument)
Jazz & commercial (optional)
•Optional jazz/commercial playing for jazz scholarship consideration: improvise two or more choruses on a jazz standard and/or play a swing-tune shout chorus
