Admission Process
•Apply to Boise State University, then complete an admissions interview with music faculty
•No instrumental or vocal audition is required for admission to the BA in Music
•Students who pass the interview and complete the Music Literacy Predictive Exam (MLPE) are admitted as BA in Music majors
•You do not need to play an instrument, sing, or read music to enter the program
PRIVATE LESSONS (optional)
•BA students who want to take private lessons or join a department area must also prepare a performance audition on their instrument or voice
•A performing focus on jazz or commercial music is available via audition
Format
•In-person and Zoom interviews offered
•On-campus Audition Days or video submission with a follow-up Zoom meeting
