TRAINING
•Rigorous triple-threat training combining theatre, dance, and music coursework — one of the most intensive MT specializations in the region
•Advanced acting coursework: Acting Principles, Character & Range, plus specialized Musical Theatre performance classes
•Dance training includes Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Modern across multiple semesters
•Voice training through the College of Musical Arts — private lessons, vocal literature, and diction
PRODUCTIONS & PERFORMANCE
•Perform in 8–10 productions annually in the Wolfe Center for the Arts (Donnell Theatre and Eva Marie Saint Theatre)

Audition Requirements
Songs
TWO CONTRASTING SONGS, one from each category
•One song from Musical Theatre repertoire
•One Classical art song (folk song or spiritual arranged by Copland, Niles, Quilter, or similar composers)
-Foreign language art songs acceptable
-Solo & Ensemble contest literature acceptable
•Music must be memorized
•For women: sing in both registers if possible (chest voice for MT, head voice for art song)
•Must sing with live music
•Be prepared with whole number but may be asked for best 32 bars
Monologues
TWO CONTRASTING MONOLOGUES FROM PLAYS, 1 min max each
•Must be from published plays — not freestanding internet monologues
•Should read the full plays
Dance
DANCE CALL
•Short jazz/musical theatre and tap combinations will be taught
•Structured like a dance class
ATTIRE
•Bring dance shoes (modern, jazz, or tap)
•Be prepared to show specialty if you have one
VIDEO OPTION
•Optional video of dance combination (musical theatre, jazz, tap, or modern)
Additional Materials
•Accompanist provided if needed (email sheet music PDF to ccapen@bgsu.edu)
•Sheet music must have your name, be clearly marked for cuts, and in appropriate key
•Audition reservation form required upon application to BGSU

•Video auditions accepted for students living more than 250 miles from campus
