Training
•Musical Theatre Concentration is a 15-hour sequence of courses available to students already pursuing the BFA Theatre Performance major
•Individual Voice Classes: 30-minute weekly one-on-one sessions with Melissa Johnson, Guilherme Almeida, and Lauren Mikeal Weber
•CaBEARet: intensive musical theatre workshop course; students perform solos, duets, and group numbers for the department each semester
•Musical Theatre Scenes and One-Act Projects offered throughout the semester, directed by undergraduate and graduate students
Performance & Productions
•Annual Mainstage Musical is a professional-quality production featuring stunning costumes and breathtaking scenery; past productions include Gypsy, The Drowsy Chaperone (university world premiere), Into The Woods, Fiddler on the Roof, and Crazy for You
•Students are embedded in rigorous artistic work from the first day of classes, assigned to technical production crews and weekly workshop performances
•New students are assigned a Big — an experienced student mentor
