Training
•Courses for students pursuing work in theatre, musical theatre, and film or television, grounded in contemporary acting approaches, historical styles, voice, movement, role analysis, and scene study.
•The BA requires a minimum of 36 credits and combines the shared Theatre core with Acting specialization courses including Improvisation, Voice & Movement, Acting II: Role Analysis, Acting III: Scene Study, and Script Analysis.
Performance & Productions
•Students work in mainstage and laboratory theatre environments, with student-led projects and professional-level productions in the historic Broad Theater and Pelican Black Box Theater.
•The curriculum emphasizes experiential learning through acting, improvisation, on-camera techniques, and one-person show creation.
Location
•Barry's Miami Shores campus places students in the South Florida arts community and gives students access to campus productions, studios, and the outdoor amphitheater.
Degree Flexibility
•The BA pathway supports students pursuing theatre, musical theatre, film or television, and related fields while leaving room for Barry's liberal-arts curriculum.
•Barry's published theatre structure keeps the Acting specialization available in both the BA and BFA degree paths.
