•Bullet: The General music education emphasis combines musicianship and education coursework for Kansas preK–12 general-music licensure.
•Bullet: Rather than centering a single choir or instrumental ensemble, the pathway prepares teachers to work across classroom music settings, supported by music methods, conducting, theory, history, technology and applied study.
Performance & Teaching
•Bullet: Students still participate in Baker's active ensemble culture, with vocal, instrumental, jazz, orchestral, percussion and chamber options available alongside teacher preparation.
•Bullet: Faculty advisors from Music and the School of Education coordinate degree and licensure requirements, helping students connect musical skills with curriculum planning and day-to-day classroom leadership.
