• MTCP Song Option C

-Applicant chooses Option A or B:

-Option A: One pre-1970 + one post-1970 song (contrasting styles)

-Option B: One MT song + one contrasting song (any style)

-60-90 seconds each

Monologues

• MTCP Monologue Option B

-One contemporary monologue (written after 1950)

-One classical monologue (written before 1950, heightened language)

-60-90 seconds each

Dance

• MTCP Dance Option A

-Dance/movement video required

-Must include at least one turn, one jump, and one kick

-Or suitable rotation, elevation, and extension

Ballet

Application Logistics

•Submit audition materials via Acceptd

•University application via Common App or the APSU application portal

•Auditions for the 2026-2027 school year opened on October 1, 2025

•Full-scholarship consideration closes in mid-February on Acceptd

•After February, students can email audition materials to auditions@apsu.edu for lower-scholarship consideration

•Austin Peay follows the Musical Theater Common Prescreen requirements through Acceptd

Program Requirements

•Must maintain a 3.0 GPA in the major and a 2.5 overall GPA to remain in the program

•Annual review is required for continuation

•Must audition for every main stage play, musical, and dance concert

What's The Process

Audition Process

•Submit a self-tape audition through Acceptd

•Frame songs and the monologue from just below the waist up with room above the head

•Film Musical Theatre dance submissions full body

•Keep the complete video submission to 5 minutes or less

•Faculty review submitted materials for admission and scholarship consideration

Talent Scholarships

•Talent scholarships and out-of-state fee waivers available based on audition

•Must be officially admitted to the university to be eligible for scholarship consideration

Named Scholarships

•Family Named and Memorial Scholarships require a separate application
