APPLICATION
•Apply through ACC's online application as a traditional degree-seeking student; there is no separate musical theater application or prescreen portal.
•Admissions are rolling.
•Returning credit students in a credit degree or certificate program do not reapply; they meet with an advisor before registering.
MUSIC PLACEMENT
•Musical Theater majors complete both music department intake forms and a face-to-face lesson placement audition before registering for music classes.
•Prepare two different pieces or exercises that show different aspects of your training.
•Fall 2026 placement dates: May 15, June 5, June 26, and July 24, 2026.

What's The Process
ADMISSION PROCESS
•No admission audition, prescreen, or interview is required for the AA Musical Theater degree.
•After admission, faculty use the music lesson placement audition to place you into the correct private-lesson level and advise your schedule.
•The placement audition is for lesson level and registration support, not competitive admission to the program.
•Scholarship auditions are separate from admission and only apply if you pursue the freshman departmental scholarship.

SCHOLARSHIP OPTIONS
•Dance & Drama Freshman Scholarship supports incoming dance or drama majors.
•Dance & Drama Scholarship supports current majors after 12 ACC credits, including two dance or drama courses.
•Boyd Vance Scholarship supports eligible African-American students in the dance or drama program.
FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP
•Requires a minimum 2.5 high school GPA or equivalent.
•Includes an audition and interview with dance or drama faculty.
TIMELINE
•ACC's scholarship general application opens January 15 and closes May 1.
•Award notifications are sent by email in August.
