•Vocal majors complete both department intake forms and a face-to-face lesson placement audition before registering for music classes.

•Prepare two different pieces or exercises that show different aspects of your training.

•Fall 2026 placement dates: May 15, June 5, June 26, and July 24, 2026.

What's The Process

Audition Process

•No admission audition, prescreen, or interview is required for the Vocal concentration.

•After admission, faculty hear you sing during the lesson placement audition so they can place you in the correct classes and advise registration.

•Face-to-face placement is required before you register for music classes.
