No Admission Audition
•Admission to Austin College is through the regular university application
•No audition required for freshman admission
Internal Gateway
•Formal entry into the music major requires:
-Completion of MUS 220 Music Theory and Ear Training II
-Completion of MUS 240 or MUS 241 Music History
-Full completion of MUS 091 Junior-Level Exam (normally end of second year)
-Recommendation of the music faculty
•Transfer students: admitted after transcript evaluation, audition for music faculty, and MUS 091
Scholarship Audition
•Optional audition for Music Scholarship consideration
•In-person on campus or video submission accepted
•Faculty interview follows the audition
•Concert attire expected (live or recorded)
•Accompanist provided at no cost for live auditions (provide sheet music one week prior)
•Video auditions: upload via YouTube with a third video answering questions about musical background and plans
