Scholarship Audition Requirements

These requirements are from the Fall 2026 entry cycle. Fall 2027 requirements are typically posted between August and October and usually change only slightly — confirm on the official source before submitting.

Optional audition for scholarship consideration only; it is not required for program admission.

Repertoire List

Piano: two contrasting selections from the standard repertoire

Brass, woodwinds, or strings: a solo, etude, or similar piece demonstrating performance ability (accompaniment preferred but not required)

Percussion: two solo selections on melodic and non-melodic percussion instruments

Other genres (rock, pop, jazz): a video of your best playing, including at least one full song

Successful auditions typically present complete works lasting 3-5 minutes

Music education majors must also declare a second major in All-Grades Education (K-12)

What's The Process

Audition Process

Complete the admission application and be offered admission to Augustana University

No audition is required for admission to the music education major

An optional Pro-Musica audition on your principal instrument or voice is used for music scholarship consideration

Scholarship Info

Scholarship Tiers

Pro-Musica: up to $8,000/year (audition required)

Studio: up to $5,000/year (audition required)

Music Honors: $4,000/year (All-State/honors participants)

Ensemble: $1,000/year (ensemble placement audition)

Bach Collegium: $9,000/year (requires Band or Choir participation)

Viking Marching Band: $4,000/year (no audition, stackable)
