PROGRAM RECOGNITION
•NAST-accredited theatre program
•Housed in the Fowler Center, A-State's dedicated performing arts complex
TRAINING
•Integrated curriculum blending acting, private and group vocal instruction, and multiple dance styles
•Musical theatre performance and scene study courses build the triple-threat skill set
•Voice faculty led by Dr. Marika Kyriakos (Professor of Voice, Interim Department Chair)
PERFORMANCE & PRODUCTIONS
•4 full-scale productions per season including musicals and plays, with casting from freshman year
•Perform in the 344-seat Drama Theatre and flexible Simpson Theatre black box
•Recent productions: Ride the Cyclone, Cinderella, Little Women, Leading Ladies
FACILITIES
•Light Lab with intelligent LED fixtures; Scene Shop with 3D printer; Costume Shop with 14 Bernina machines

APPLICATION LOGISTICS
•Apply to Arkansas State through the undergraduate admissions application
•Submit transcripts and immunization records; the university application fee is $30 and waiver requests are available
IMPORTANT NOTES
•Scholarship auditions may be completed in person or via Zoom, Google Meets, or Teams
•Use the department scholarship sign-up form to reserve January 20, March 13, or April 10, 2026
•If you cannot attend a listed date, contact Dallas Martinez at dalmartinez@astate.edu to discuss alternate options
•No audition required for program admission
•Optional scholarship auditions available for Theatre Department scholarships
•Students may audition for productions after enrollment (open to all A-State students)
THEATRE DEPARTMENT SCHOLARSHIPS
•Available through audition — ONE MONOLOGUE from a published play, 30-60 seconds, memorized, age-appropriate, no accents
•In person or via Zoom/Google Meets/Teams
SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS
•Must be a declared Theatre major with 3.0+ GPA in Theatre courses
•Participate in at least three productions annually
•Musical theatre emphasis students must audition for all productions
THEATRE GUILD SCHOLARSHIP
•Awarded annually to outstanding students showing potential for a theatre career
