Training
•Bullet: The 135-credit degree combines 90 hours of music and professional-education courses with a 45-hour institutional core
•Bullet: Brass, String, Woodwind and Percussion Techniques classes sit alongside Instrumental Methods, Choral Methods, Fundamentals of Conducting and Advanced Conducting
•Bullet: Applied study covers four semesters of principal applied music plus two further semesters that require a jury, and every music education major performs a 30-minute recital in the applied major area
•Bullet: Vocal students take two hours of instrumental ensembles, and instrumental students take two hours of vocal ensembles
Performance & Productions
•Bullet: Students perform in a major ensemble, band or choir, in each year of the sample curriculum, and Ashland bands and choirs have toured Germany, Italy, Austria and Spain

•Bullet: Two PreK-12 field experiences lead to a 10-credit PreK-12 student internship, and exit assessment includes a professional portfolio
•Bullet: Most graduates secure teaching positions within one year, and recent graduates work in Ashland City, Clear Fork Valley, Eastern, Green, Lexington, Loudonville-Perrysville, Mapleton, Ontario and Triway schools
