Repertoire List
•Audition on voice or your primary instrument with material from the current Texas UIL Prescribed Music List (PML); non-PML works may be approved by the audition chair in advance
•Voice repertoire: one memorized song from the PML, any grade
•Piano repertoire: one memorized composition from the PML, any grade
•Strings repertoire: one PML composition, any grade
•Woodwind/brass repertoire: one PML composition, any grade, or the All-Region audition material
•Percussion repertoire: one snare drum, one timpani, and one keyboard composition, any grade; drum set is optional but encouraged
Scales & Technique
•Piano: white-key major scales, hands together, one octave, eighth-notes at quarter = 90
•Strings: one- or two-octave scales
•Woodwinds and brass: major scales plus the chromatic scale
•Percussion: major scales on keyboard, one octave, eighth-notes at quarter = 90
•Sight-read as part of the audition; percussionists sight-read on snare drum
Accompaniment
•A staff accompanist is available at no charge, or you may bring your own; you only need to provide a copy of your music if you need the school accompanist
