Training
•Bullet: The recommended sequence includes Acting I, Stage Make-Up, and a choice of Acting II or Stagecraft I, with four semesters of Theater Practicum experience in play productions
•Bullet: Program outcomes include basic backstage tasks, backstage job protocol, the rehearsal process and performing an acting monologue
•Bullet: Acting I develops the actor's instrument: voice, body, and imagination
Performance & Productions
•Bullet: Black Box performances and musical productions throughout the year
•Bullet: The 2026-27 season includes the musical Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash from the Theater and Music departments and the plays Ajax and God of Carnage, staged in the Temple Theater and ACA Black Box Theater
Degree Flexibility
•Bullet: Transfers to Lamar University BS in Theatre & Dance with Acting or Design & Tech emphasis
•Bullet: 60-credit associate degree for continuing at university and conservatory programs, or toward bachelor's degrees in secondary and college-level theater education
